Christopher Cole, CFA is the founder and portfolio manager of the Artemis Vega Fund LP a specialist in the emerging asset class of volatility. Cole began his career in capital markets and investment banking at Merrill Lynch structuring $10 billion in derivatives and debt transactions for high profile issuers. He has since focused on systematic and quantitative trading of volatility and his decision to form a fund came after achieving significant proprietary returns during the 2008 financial crash trading volatility futures. Cole’s research letters and volatility commentaries are widely read in the derivatives community and have been referenced by publications such as the Financial Times, International Financing Review, CFA Magazine, and Forbes. He has been a key speaker at several industry events including the Global Derivatives and Risk Management Conference. Cole holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, is an associate member of the NFA, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California.
