Lawrence ("Larry") G. McDonald co-founded and was chief operating officer of Convertbond.com, which was later sold to Morgan Stanley. After, in 2004, Larry joined Lehman Brothers as vice president of distressed debt and convertible securities trading. He then founded The Bear Traps Report, a weekly independent macro research platform that focuses on global political and systemic risk with actionable trade ideas. In 2016, he became a partner at ACG Analytics, an investment research firm that translates public policy for portfolio managers and analysts.
Larry is also a financial consultant, guest lecturer, guest contributor on CNBC and Bloomberg, frequent writer at Forbes, and bestselling author. He received his economics degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
